Power Amplifier Design; High Power RF

Our client is a leading manufacturer of High Power Amplifiers for Defense and commercial wireless applications.  They seek design engineers to design RF HPA transistors, and Discrete HPA Modules.

Design high power transistors and/or modules for Cellular Base Station, WIMAX, Radar, Medical and other High Power RF applications, using LDMOS, GaN or MMIC PA technology.  DOHERTY PA Design experience ideal.  The primary function is to design RF power amplifiers (PA) for new product development projects.

Design PA application and reference designs with a purview from architecture concept definition, through die and device level optimization, to final PA design including multistage Power PA for Doherty, Envelop tracking, pulsed applications, Class AB, C, F, & J.  Focus will be on low impedance matching techniques using simulation SW and Load-pull data.  The position will require close interface with the Die technology group on technology eval, Operations team on product releases, and direct customer contact with application design.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop RF Power Amplifiers Products for all the existing standards from GSM/EDGE, CDMA, W-CDMA, LTE and Multicarrier multimode.
  • Perform conceptual and detailed design of RF PA circuits and application for wireless cellular base station, ISM and other industrial and military applications.
  • Design high-efficiency RF power amplifier products frequency and power range: 400MHz- 3800MHz and 10W-500W range.
  • Perform details circuit simulation, circuit modeling using ADS, Microwave Office, or Cadence tools.
  • Perform 2D/3D EM simulation design and implementation.
  • Carry out all passive and active device design details and test, and validation of prototypes.
